The Library Mission Statement “To provide relevant and appropriate information resources to the college community through resources acquisition, resources sharing and online access to the ‘World Wide Web’” The major goal of the College Library shall be to develop a user friendly library and information services. The vision of the College Library is to “As a user friendly library and information centre, the College library shall strive towards and accessible and affordable access to information globally, through and assertive and proactive information outreach to the College Community.” The College has a Central Library that is serving the entire College community. This Main Library contains reading materials for all the schools and Departments in the College and the library extension that would accommodate two thousand (2000) users at a time is in progress. The total stock of the College Library is over 23,000 volumes including the newly acquired books. It subscribes to about 765 journal titles comprising 9,862 volumes, 5,667 student projects and a lot of pamphlets and other serial titles. The College Library collection is growing steadily. It has just been fully automated with the help of ETF grants to the libraries. The computerization process is still in progress with the increase in our OPAC and networking of the Circulation Section for the use of students. The digitization of the College Library has been approved; we are only expecting the release of Education Trust Fund`s intervention grant. The Library is in the stage of Database processing, pending the execution of the E-Library project. Within next few years, (by 2013) the college library is expected to have a minimum book stock as follows:
